Tournament Game #1 9 AM vs. Stop Hitting on Us

FUN BUNCH START TOURNAMENT WITH A WIN

Team wins nail-biter against Stop Hitting on Us.

OTTAWA — The good news is they won. The bad news is they were playing “stop hitting on us” a weak C-team that they have trounced all season long and barely managed to pull off a 9-6 victory. “it’s clear that we will have to have more effective hitting to win against the A teams”, cautioned team captain Alison Hale. That is an understatement to say the least. The Fun Bunch managed four innings of three-up, three-down hitless batting to give “stop hitting on us” a chance at an upset. But typical stellar fielding was the difference for the Fun Bunch with a particularly superb catch by Glen “the wrangler” Rankin to rob the opposition of two runs the turning point of the game. “Had they scored those runs – the game is tied and the pressure is on us”, said outfielder Scott “boom-boom” Saunders making his first start in a post-season game. “I thought my brother had a strong game with two homers to put the game out of reach”, he continued. There was no loss of excitement for the “never-a-dull-moment” Fun Bunch when Richard “wild thing” Bujold showed up on three hours sleep. “I’ll be fine-just point me in the direction of the outfield”, he yawned. More theatrics occurred when Paolo “slip-n-slide” Daros pulled a hamstring on a charge to second base. To his credit he stayed in the game but we can only hope he manages to ice that puppy down and take one for the team.
